Welcome
Although I grew up in the cornfields of New Jersey,
I enjoyed a rich literary childhood. From a tender age, I'm told, I described
the weather as "misty, moisty," and teared up while reciting "The Babes in the Woods" by heart.
My father, who
commuted to New York ( by car, train, ferry, and subway), often devoted his lunch hour to roaming the stacks of the legendary Donnell Children’s Library Center in our name. The bacchanalian cry, in our
house, wasn’t “Daddy’s home!” but “He went to the library!”
Melody Amsel-Arieli,
raised in
the cornfields of New Jersey
and educated in the wilds
of Manhattan,
has spent most of her
life in Israel.
